INTERNSHIP
2020

In spring 2020 I had the pleasure of joining the team at Estudio Mundial in Montevideo, Uruguay as an intern. Over the course of 6 months I partook in the development of various design projects.

At Estudio Mundial I joined a small team of three designers working together in a close-knit collaborative fashion, designing brand identity and packaging solutions.

I took part in the studio's workflow by contributing ideas, giving and receiving feedback, and getting my hands dirty in all stages of the design process. I worked on a variety of projects during the internship, participated in client presentations and helped take several products from start to finish.

Working with Mundial was an incredible learning opportunity which provided me with guidance from more experienced designers, and allowed me to structurize my design process and sharpen my skills with the feedback I received.

Following a presentation of some of the projects I worked on:

Cervecería Central

Cervecería Central is a newly opened brewery and cultural space in Montevideo serving as an incubator for local brewery projects, and a cultural institution hoting events and festival for the public.

For the final design we took inspiration in industrial wayfinding from old factories matched with a lively colour palette, and a play on the shape of the Central warehouse building.

In the design process I took part in designing logo concepts, spatial applications of the design and exploration of identity proposals.

Rigor

Rigor is a pizzeria in Montevideo breaking the process of pizza making down on a chemical level.

Rigor differenciates themselves from the typical Uruguayan style pizza, and we wanted to reflect the pizza concept's simplicity, modernity and efficiency in the design.

The design uses an angular typeface customized  to feature a circular 'O' as a throughline, with  icons representing the values of the pizzeria.

I worked on icon design, design applications and client presentations in this project.

Sourtopía

Sourtopía is a brand of sour-beer from a Uruguayan creating limited batches of beer infused with different fruits.

Inspired by the acidity of the beer, and to mark a stark difference from other beer on the market we were inspired by 60's psychedelic art to create an identity and packaging that takes you on a journey.

I worked on Sourtopía in all stages of the design process, from concept development, the illustration on the can and the final execution.
